Massachusetts theorem on velvet written in banner “General Lafayette of France”. On the left Resistance to tyranny. Then in obedience to. With a needlepoint peacock in the center. Defended through the Bartlett Family of Newburyport who’s entertained Lafayette at their home in 1824. It measures 17 1/2” by 22”. Certainly a neat Lafayette relic that has survived through the years. Looks to be in good condition with some staining to be expected.
Provenance - Rex and Patti Stark Collection
