Historical Staffordshire blue soup tureen with a view of “The Capital at Harrisburg”. Extremely scarce view that there is only a handful of known. This particular form is unusual as well as its oval and round like some of the other examples we know of. The lid has an English view from the series as this is how the others are that we know too. It displays very well with a professionally restored hairline on the rim and also on the body. The lid shows a few older chips that are hidden when displayed. Very impressive size measuring 11 3/4” tall by 14 3/4” across the handles. It dates circa 1825.
